Beyond Limits: Empowering young people with disabilities, a summit for young people with disabilities takes place at Croke Park on Saturday 19th October and will be opened by President Michael D Higgins.
Beyond Limits is the first event of its kind, amplifying the voices of young people with disabilities, hearing about the achievements of those with disabilities, learning about technology, education and employment opportunities, seeing sports and activities in action, and providing a platform for conversations about inclusion and relationships.
Beyond Limits is brought to you by the Ombudsman for Children’s Office and is supported by RTÉ 2FM.
Beyond Limits is about empowering children and young people with disabilities, showing them the opportunities open to them, talking about the issues they want to talk about and highlighting inclusiveness.
The Ombudsman for Children’s Office has created Beyond Limits to give a platform to young people with disabilities in Ireland. Beyond Limits will be a demonstration of how to include people with disabilities in major events of this kind. Its legacy will be make issues affecting young people with disabilities more mainstream and to have them recognised by those outside of the disability community.
Beyond Limits is a summit for children and young people with disabilities, for their parents, carers, siblings and friends. It will also be of interest to those who work in the disability sector. Beyond Limits has been designed with young people at its core. All of the content is driven by what they are interested in and information they are looking for.
Children and young people of all abilities are welcome to Beyond Limits. We are making every effort to facilitate all needs.
